Location and GPS
Why does a reporter need Precise Location?
NEMZIO uses your location for location-dependent property visit features while you are using the app. On a visit it does two things with it:
- It guides you to the correct property area. The app shows where to walk and tells you when you have arrived. With only an approximate location, the phone can be wrong by a kilometre or more, so it can't do this.
- It records where each capture was made. That is part of what the owner sees in the visit record.
That is why a property visit needs Precise Location (on Android, "Use precise location"; on iPhone, "Precise Location") and location access while using the app. If it's off, the app explains what to change and opens the right settings for you. Your visit and anything you have already captured are kept while you change it.
Precise Location is not the same as a strong GPS signal. If the signal is weak (under trees, between buildings), the app may ask you to wait a moment or move to a more open spot; you don't need to change any setting.
Owners don't need it. Signing in, viewing a property, reading reports, managing billing, ordering a land check, reading Help and changing account settings all work without precise location.
