Visits and guided capture
How a visit works, empty land, location and poor signal.
How visits work
- How does a site visit work? You ask for a visit, the person on site opens the NEMZIO app at the property and follows one instruction at a time. When the app says the visit is complete, the evidence is sent, checked and added to the property's record.
- How do I ask for a visit?Open the property and choose Request a visit. Pick the kind of visit, add a message for the person on site if you like, and send. They get a notification in the app.
- What is a surprise check?A visit that has to be done within a short window you choose, in which the person also photographs a code written on paper. It makes it hard to prepare photos in advance.
- How long does a visit take?It depends on the property and on what the visit asks for. The app shows one instruction at a time and tells the person when the visit is complete.
- Whose time zone are visit times shown in?The property's, with the zone named (for example 10:16 WAT). The app also shows your own time alongside.
Guided capture
- How does NEMZIO guide someone around a site? The app shows one instruction at a time: walk into the green area on the map, point the camera at the property, hold still, capture. It moves on by itself when a view is done.
- Why does NEMZIO ask for several views? One photo can leave most of a property out. Views from around the property show what's there on every side, and the record shows which parts were covered and from where.
- Why is each visit different? What each visit asks for can adapt to the property, to the visit and to what you're trying to find out. That makes it hard to prepare evidence in advance.
- Why does the app ask to retry a view?A retry just means: take that view again. It isn't an accusation; usually the phone moved, the picture was unclear, or the person wasn't quite in the green area.
- What if a spot isn't safe to reach? The person on site should say so in the app instead of going there. The app offers another spot, and the record notes that the first one wasn't reachable.
- Does NEMZIO accept photos from the phone's gallery? No. Evidence is captured live in the NEMZIO app during the visit. The app has no way to attach existing photos from a phone's gallery, other apps or a computer.
- Can someone use an old image? Not through the app: it can't add an existing image to a visit. Visits are captured live and checked for integrity indicators before they join the record.
- Does a visit include video? Some visits ask for short videos, such as a walk around the site, as well as photos. Like photos, they're captured live in the app.
- What if the person skips part of the property? The visit is marked Incomplete and the record shows which parts weren't covered. A skipped side is visible to you, not hidden.
Empty land and bush plots
- Can NEMZIO work on empty land?Yes. A visit to empty land records the plot from its edges and corners, the approach and the land around it, and what is on it now.
- What if there is only bush on my land? That's fine. The record shows what is there now, bush included. The person on site covers what they can reach safely and says when a part can't be reached.
- Does NEMZIO need a building to work? No. NEMZIO works on empty land, on construction sites and on finished buildings.
- How does NEMZIO know where my property's boundary is?You set it: drop a pin when you add the property, then draw the boundary, take it from your survey plan's coordinates, or have the person on site walk it.
- What is a boundary walk?A visit in which the person on site walks around the plot and photographs each corner. It records where the corners are on the ground today.
- Can NEMZIO show if someone is building on my land?A visit shows what is physically on the plot at that moment, so a new structure, foundation or material in view would be in the record. Visits are kept in date order, so you can compare them.
Location and GPS
- What does “location checked” mean? That the phone's location during the capture was compared with your property's pin or boundary, taking into account the accuracy the phone reported. The result is shown in plain words.
- Is phone GPS survey-grade?No. Phone GPS is approximate, and its accuracy varies with the phone, the sky view, trees and buildings. NEMZIO shows the accuracy with each result and treats uncertain readings as uncertain.
- What happens if GPS accuracy is poor? The app may ask the person to wait a moment or move to a more open spot. If accuracy stays poor, the result says the location is uncertain rather than passing it.
- Can someone fake GPS?NEMZIO uses multiple signals and capture requirements to assess location and visit consistency, but phone-based evidence should not be described as impossible to manipulate. NEMZIO is designed to make evidence more structured and harder to substitute than ordinary photo sharing.
Offline and poor networks
- What happens if there is no mobile network on site? The visit carries on. Evidence is saved on the phone and sent when the signal returns. The record shows when each capture was made and when NEMZIO received it.
- Can a visit be captured offline?Yes. The visit can be completed without signal, and the app sends it when the phone reconnects.
- What happens if an upload fails? It's kept on the phone and retried automatically. Nothing needs to be captured again, as long as the app isn't uninstalled before it's sent.
- Does a late upload count against the visit? No. The record shows when each capture was made and when it arrived, so a delay caused by signal is shown, and isn't a failure on its own.
- What happens to evidence from a visit that's never sent?Anything that already reached NEMZIO is kept. If the visit runs out of time, or you withdraw the request or archive the property, what arrived becomes a visit in your record marked as interrupted, and you're told.
