Construction and progress
Tracking a build, stages, Progress Timeline and Progress Film.
Construction projects
- How does NEMZIO track a construction project? Each construction visit repeats reference views of the building from roughly the same areas, plus the newest work and views that vary by visit. Visit by visit, you see what changed, which stage the build has reached and whether what you were told matches the evidence.
- Why do construction visits repeat reference views? So that visits can be compared like for like. Reference views come from roughly the same areas and directions each time, so change is visible; other views vary. It's also what makes a Progress Film possible.
- How are construction stages recorded? You (or a connected project tool) can mark each stage, and on paid plans NEMZIO also estimates the stage from the photos. Estimates are labelled as automated.
- What is a milestone?A named point in the project, attached to the visit that shows it, such as "Roof complete". Milestones appear in the Progress Timeline and can start a Progress Film.
- What alerts does NEMZIO send?On paid plans: when a visit is overdue, when a check fails, and, on construction projects, when items seen in the last visit aren't visible from the same views. On every plan you're told when a visit is ready or comes back incomplete.
- Can NEMZIO legally certify construction? No. A NEMZIO record shows what was visible at the site and when. It isn't a building inspection, an engineering assessment or a certificate of any kind.
- Does NEMZIO check construction quality? No. NEMZIO records what was there and what changed. Whether the work is good, safe or to specification needs an engineer or another qualified professional on site.
- What happens when construction is complete?Mark the project complete. Where your plan includes Progress Film, a final film can be made from the whole build. The record stays, and you can keep using NEMZIO for the finished property.
Progress Timeline
- What is Progress Timeline? The project's history in order: every visit, the construction stages, the milestones and the estimated progress, each linked to the visit it rests on.
- Who can see the Progress Timeline? You, and anyone you've given access to it. People on site don't see it unless you allow them to.
Progress Film
- What is Progress Film?A short film of your project, put together from the reference views across your visits. You watch the building change, with each moment dated and linked back to the visit it came from.
- Can I watch progress before my project is complete?Yes. A Progress Film can be made as soon as there are at least two suitable visits, and made again as more visits come in.
- Can a Progress Film be made at milestones?Yes. Where your plan includes Progress Film, you can choose to have a new film made automatically when a milestone is reached.
- Can I download or share a Progress Film?Yes, where your plan includes it. You can share a film with a private link and export it as a video file. Shared links can be turned off at any time.
- Is the film itself the original evidence? No. The film is a presentation made from your evidence. The original photos and videos stay in each visit, unchanged, and remain the evidence.
- Can I see the original evidence used in a Progress Film?Yes. Each part of the film links back to the visit and captures it was made from.
- Why are some parts of my film marked?Marked parts rest on weaker evidence, for example a view that wasn't taken from quite the same spot or a visit whose checks didn't all pass. The film shows them honestly instead of hiding them.
- Which plans include Progress Film?Progress Film is included with Watch, Watch 5 and Record. On Build it is available as an add-on.
